SKANK BLOC BOLOGNA
Number Two

You are invited to the launch of the second issue of Skank Bloc Bologna part of Book It! a New Langton Arts (http://newlangtonarts.org/) event in San Francisco on May 3rd, 2008.

Skank Bloc Bologna is a Semina inspired collection of art and poetry which includes contributions from Dodie Bellamy, Bill Berkson, Anne Colvin, Leo Estevez, Valéry Grancher, Eric Doeringer, Skylar Haskard, Colter Jacobson, Pat Lenz, Erlea Maneros, Bernadette Mayer, Tucker Nichols, Larry Rinder, Allen Ruppersberg, Ubuweb and others. This is a special 'Langton Edition' as the contributing artists have either shown at New Langton Arts or have created a Langton-inspired piece for Skank.
Book It! is a one-day alternative publishing fair and panel discussion that brings together artist's books, zines, magazines and online publications from the Bay Area and beyond.

Book It! is organized in conjunction with the Alejandro Cesarco's Once Within a Room and Dexter Sinister's Phantom Rosebuds exhibitions which reconsider the place of text, narrative and reading in contemporary art and society. The artists and curators involved in these exhibitions examine the function of language and text in the artistic process and propose alternative models for publishing and production. The result is an innovative and timely reconsideration of the place of the word in the society of the spectacle.

"May Skank have the life that Semina did..." - Mark Beasley, Curator and Producer, Creative Time.

Hope to see you there, Anne Colvin.
